We Are Anonymous

Anonymous

No one person knew everything that has been exposed on this site. No one person could know. These memes are the result of the collaboration of a growing team committed to helping family and friends still enmeshed in some churches in the CREC where spiritual abuse has been perpetrated for years.

We remain anonymous for the sake of those very friends and family who are still there, who could get into trouble for just knowing us or being related to us. We remain anonymous because that draws attention to the issues themselves and removes the opportunity for Doug Wilson to make the ad hominem attacks he is so fond of.

“Why did I suggest that we use anonymity? Out of nostalgia for a time when, being quite unknown, what I said had some chance of being heard… If I have chosen anonymity, it is not, therefore, to criticize this or that individual, which I never do. It’s a way of addressing the potential reader, the only individual here who is of interest to me, more directly: Since you don’t know who I am, you will be more inclined to find out why I say what you read; just allow yourself to say, quite simply, it’s true, it’s false. I like it or I don’t like it.” — Michel Foucault

We are Reformed, we are Anglican, we are Roman Catholic, we are Orthodox, we are still in the CREC.

We are Anonymous.

  1. To each of you with my deepest gratitude as you stand in the Light, please receive this blessing.

A Blessing For the New Year
    BEANNACHT

    On the day when
    The weight deadens
    On your shoulders
    And you stumble,
    May the clay dance
    To balance you.

    And when your eyes
    Freeze behind
    The gray window
    And the ghost of loss
    Gets into you,
    May a flock of colors,
    Indigo, red, green,
    And azure blue
    Come to awaken in you
    A meadow of delight

    When the canvas frays
    In the curragh of thought
    And a stain of ocean
    Blackens beneath you,
May there come across the waters
    A path of yellow moonlight
    To bring you safely home.
May the nourishment of the earth be yours.
May the clarity of light be yours.
May the fluency of the ocean be yours.
May the protection of the ancestors be yours.

    And so may a slow
    Wind work these words
    Of love around you,
    An invisible cloak
    To mind your life.

  2. Interesting thing to consider if you are in the CREC:

Do you see what is happening with Doug Phillips and Bill Gothard right now? They gave no quarter, no mercy, no grace for those who struggled under the burden of their quest for a superior Christendom. And when they fell – and we ALL fall, make no mistake – the legion of the dispossessed returned the favor.

  3. Some excellent FREE resources online, well known books that have been around for decades, by Dr. Ronald Enroth:

    1) Churches That Abuse
    http://www.ccel.us/churches.toc.html

    2) Recovering From Churches That Abuse
    http://www.ccel.us/churchesrec.toc.html

There are many internet websites devoted to the topic of “spiritual abuse”. And many good books as well from online booksellers it you do a search for “spiritual abuse”.

If you have been spiritually abused, there is hope. Life can be better. And there are better days ahead. It’s a FREE country. Runnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!
