About nine years ago the Idaho Statesman ran an op-ed headline that compared Wilson’s antics with those of Nazi Germany. And right on cue, Wilson went positively ape shit like the screaming gorilla in the old Samsonite commercials, jumping up and down and throwing his feces at pretty much everyone within a three-mile radius. He even threatened to sue the Statesman if they didn’t apologize to him, which was also right on cue, according to his worn-out script.
So I wrote a letter to the editor agreeing with Wilson that the headline was inappropriate and that the Statesman did in fact owe an apology. However, I differed with him on one little point. I told the Statesman that in order to set the record straight, they needed to apologize in writing to every member of the Third Reich for naming their generation in the same breath with the wicked monster Doug Wilson, the Beast of Moscow.
While it’s nearly impossible to choose, I think this is my favorite meme so far because it’s undeniably *so* dead on accurate. Any guesses as to how busy the phone lines were with the faithful sucking up to Wilson and assuring him that, honestly, they are the true Wilson acolytes?
